Maruti e-Vitara: India’s Game-Changer Electric SUV Unveiled

Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker, is all set to electrify the mid-size SUV market with its first pure electric vehicle — the Maruti e-Vitara — a highly anticipated all-electric SUV that marks the brand’s bold entry into the EV era.

What Is the Maruti e-Vitara?

The Maruti e-Vitara is an upcoming fully battery-electric SUV developed on Maruti’s dedicated Heartect-e platform — a new architecture designed specifically for electric vehicles. It promises spacious interiors, modern tech, strong safety, and impressive range — all tailored for Indian roads and lifestyles.

The SUV has already been showcased internationally and at auto shows, and Maruti is gearing up for its India launch in January 2026 through Nexa dealerships.

Battery Options & Driving Range

The e-Vitara will be offered with two battery packs

  • 49 kWh battery — efficient and wallet-friendly with strong real-world range potential
  • 61 kWh battery — higher capacity for extended trips

The 61 kWh version could deliver around 500–543 km of range on a single charge (claimed ARAI figures), making it one of the longest-range EVs in its segment.

Smart, Packed Features

The e-Vitara blends comfort, connectivity, safety and next-gen EV tech:

  • Ventilated front seats with 10-way power-adjustable driver seat
  • Panoramic fixed glass roof for airy cabin feel
  • Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay
  • Premium audio system (Infinity by Harman)

Expected Price

While official Indian pricing has not yet been confirmed, multiple credible sources and market leaks suggest:

💸 Expected Ex-Showroom Price Range:
₹17 lakh to ₹22 lakh (₹15 lakh–₹19 lakh in some estimates, depending on battery and variant)

These price bands, if confirmed, would place the e-Vitara competitively against rivals like the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv.ev, MG ZS EV, and Mahindra BE 6 — making it an attractive choice for mid-size EV buyers.

Why It Matters

The Maruti e-Vitara is more than just another SUV — it’s Maruti Suzuki’s flagship electric launch in India, intended to reshape the brand’s future and accelerate EV adoption. With strong performance, long range, advanced features, and wide Nexa service support planned, it aims to give Indian buyers a compelling EV choice in the fast-growing electric SUV segment.

Stay tuned for the official launch and booking details when Maruti Suzuki makes them public — this EV could redefine affordable electric motoring in India!
