Air India Faces Heat Over Last-Minute Ticket Cancellations

In a frustrating turn of events for many travelers, Air India is facing public backlash after a wave of last-minute ticket cancellations across multiple domestic and international routes left passengers stranded.

Over the past 48 hours, several customers reported that their confirmed tickets were cancelled without prior warning, some just hours before departure. Affected flights included key routes from Delhi to Mumbai, Bengaluru to Dubai, and Chennai to London.

“I checked in online the night before, but in the morning, I was shocked to see my ticket had been cancelled,” said a passenger from Hyderabad.

What’s Causing the Cancellations?

Sources inside Air India say the cancellations may be linked to technical glitches in the reservation system and overbooking issues following increased travel demand during the summer season.

“We deeply regret the inconvenience caused due to unexpected cancellations. All affected customers are being provided refunds and alternate arrangements.”

However, many customers claim that refunds are being delayed, and customer care is unresponsive, adding to their frustration.
